Hillier Introduces Legislation to Repeal Bill 119

Randy Hillier introduces new Legislation to repeal the Liberal Government's Bill 119. Bill 17, will repeal the provisions of Bill 119 that forces independent contractors in Ontario to pay for inferior, redundant mandatory WSIB coverage. The new Legislation will also allow businesses to choose between WSIB coverage or coverage provided by a private insurance company.

The long-promised Ontario Algonquin Land Claim Agreement-in-Principle (AIP) was quietly released in early December, and comments about its implications have been somewhat muted since then.

To a certain extent this is due to the political focus on Chief Theresa Spence and the Idle No More protests against new environmental laws and proposed changes to the Indian Act.
