Toronto Sun: Propane shortage hitting Ontario and Quebec as rail strike goes on

The CN Rail strike is about to make itself felt as a propane shortage grips the country.

This isn’t something that will simply hurt those looking to throw a steak on the BBQ, it will hurt farmers trying to dry crops that have just come off the fields as well as the many people across rural areas who heat their homes with propane.

The head of the new organization tasked with replacing Tarion says he plans to take the auditor general's scathing criticism into account as he overhauls the province's home-building industry, but critics still have their doubts anything will change.

Tarion, an arms-length government agency that regulates the industry and is supposed to ensure builders honour their warranties, has come under fire from homeowners and their advocates, the government and most recently, Ontario Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk, who characterized Tarion's relationship with builders as far too close for comfort.

Another Open Letter to the Minister of Education

Again, I am having to express my concerns with Education Minister Stephen Lecce. There have been significant shortfalls in Ontario's education system and we must work to find solutions! I am calling on the Minister to create a Select Committee of the Legislative Assembly to help develop a path towards improving labour relations in Ontario's education system, while improving outcomes for students.

The following letter has been send to the Minister outlining where problems exist among additional possible solutions.

An Open Letter to the Minister of Environment on Carleton Place Contamination

The confusion over contamination in Carleton Place has gone on way too long. After countless conversations with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MoECP), in attempts to have this issue resolved, the problem and confusion remains unresolved and too many questions left unanswered. Without proper and competent attention the Ministry is failing in their duties to my constituents, and leaving them with uncertainty and anxiety.
