KINGSTON - If Amherst Island residents opposed to a planned wind project resort to trying to slow down construction by obstruction, their provincial representative says he will be there to support them.

Today, Hillier also introduced new legislation that will repeal Bill 119 as well introduce much needed competition to workplace safety by opening the market to private insurance companies.

Bill 17, will repeal the provisions of Bill 119 that forces independent contractors in Ontario to pay for inferior, redundant mandatory WSIB coverage. The new Legislation will also allow businesses to choose between WSIB coverage or coverage provided by a private insurance company.
