Hillier introduces an Act to Proclaim Constitution Day

Randy Hillier, MPP rose in the House to introduce an Act to Proclaim Constitution Day. March 29th was the day that both the British North America Act, 1867 and the Canada Act, 1982 received Royal Assent.

Randy also remarks how far our knowledge of the Constitution has fallen and discusses how even prospective high school students in 1925 were required to know every aspect of the British North America Act.

"It's the taxpayers' money, not the government's"

Randy Hillier, MPP responded to debate on his Private Member's Bill to strengthen the Taxpayer Protection Act and told the Mimosa Coalition of the champagne socialists in the Liberals and the NDP that they need to wise up to the facts. The Rae NDP Government raised income taxes and gas taxes twice. The McGuinty-Wynne Liberals have broken the Taxpayer Protection Act four times since they took power.

Taxes are the biggest part of an average Canadian family's expenditure, more than hydro, food and shelter. But under the Mimosa Coalition, taxes only go up.
