(QUEEN’S PARK) – Today, MPP Randy Hillier, Lanark-Frontenac-Lennox & Addington, delivered a petition to the Lieutenant Governor signed by over 2,600 people displaying their outrage with Premier Dalton McGuinty’s prorogation of the Ontario Legislature.
“I’ve heard from my constituents, from people all over the Province, who are concerned with the prorogation of the house. I delivered this petition today to show the considerable frustration that many people across my riding and the Province of Ontario share,” said Hillier.
The signatures, collected between October 18th and October 31st, 2012, were hand-delivered by Hillier to the Lieutenant Governor’s Office at Queen’s Park this afternoon. The over 2,600 signatories included Hillier’s constituents and people from across the Province of Ontario.
“We are being paid to do a job that, thanks to Premier McGuinty, we are not allowed to do. To me that is unacceptable and I am pleased over 2,600 people from my riding and across the Province agree with me.”
