Hillier introduces Bill to limit length of prorogation

One year after Premier Dalton McGuinty prorogued the Legislature, Randy Hillier, MPP for Lanark-Frontenac-Lennox and Addington, has introduced a Bill to limit the length of time a government can prorogue by cutting off the taps. Right now, a government can have a prorogation lasting up to a year in length. This Bill, if passed, would limit the length of time that the Lieutenant Governor in Council could continue to pay for the government to 60 days since the last time it sat.
