Bill 89 - Election Amendment Act (MPP Recall), 2015

I have tabled and will be debating at second reading my Private Member's Bill on September 17th. Bill 89 - Election Amendment Act (MPPs' Recall), 2015 if passed will give the people of Ontario the ability to hold their representatives accountable between election cycles.

Bill 89 creates a powerful tool for democracy and would allow constituents to recall a member of Provincial Parliament if a petition is signed by twenty-five percent of the number of voters who cast a ballot in the previous election. If that threshold is met, a by-election would be initiated in which the incumbent MPP would still be allowed to run for re-election. No application can be made during the year following a member’s election or in the year before the next scheduled election.

Below you can read through the entire Bill, zoom in and out, and share it on your social media pages. I also encourage you to leave your comments at the bottom.

Without RECALL legislation there is no way that WE can do anything to keep majority’s like Wynne’s FIBERALS from running amok..
BC has it and it was proposed and defeated by Randy Hillier bill 89
