Local municipalities have been fiscally hand-strung by arbitration decisions awarding millions of dollars to more than well-compensated public sector workers, who make between 15-30% more than their private sector counterparts. Instead of driving up property taxes on young families, on seniors and on hard-working folks across the Province, we need to reform our arbitration system to realize that places like Smiths Falls have a different capacity to pay than Windsor or Sudbury or Toronto do.

The Rae NDP Government raised income taxes and gas taxes twice. The McGuinty-Wynne Liberals have broken the Taxpayer Protection Act four times since they took power.

Taxes are the biggest part of an average Canadian family's expenditure, more than hydro, food and shelter. But under the Mimosa Coalition, taxes only go up.
